A penny saved…

I’ve been doing some long due cleanup this week, and decided to sort the loose change that has a tendency to accumulate in every corner of my place.  The results, after filling a separate bag with pennies, is this:

In total, about $115 closer to taking a trip.  The conclusion of all this for me, is that accumulating the random change that has a tendency to make me walk around like a pack mule might actually make a difference in my travel budget, without even being noticeable.  Resolution of the day: sort pocket change into my shiny new box nightly and reserve the results for funfunfun 🙂

Veuillez-décrocher launched

Inspired both by the public payphones around here and my desire to disconnect and break away from the humdrum of the familiar, I’ve setup this site and web log as a place to stash my thoughts and notes as I travel.

I’ve left the content public, on the off chance anyone else will get something out of reading this. Updates will be sporadic, and probably limited to times of travel which, unfortunately for me, have been few and far between for a good while now.

I’m hoping to fill this site with tales of wild adventures, or at least a few good tips for fellow travelers, in the near future. Don’t stay tuned… but cross your fingers for me 😉
